For the first time in almost 50 years, the UN Water Conference was held in New York from the 22nd to the 24th of March, 2023. 8.000 delegates from all over the world came together for this once-in-a-generation opportunity to promote and advance access to safe water and sanitation.

MAGO Prima is proud to have the University of Thessaly Professor Chrysi Laspidou- Vice President of Collaboration for Water Europe at the EU Delegation in New York City. Throughout the Conference, Prof. Laspidou established connections with ambassadors from different parts of the world and had the chance to discuss MAGO Prima, water management in the water-scarce Mediterranean and the WEFE Nexus for governance and efficient resource use.

Prof. Laspidou was the keynote speaker at the side event “Climate Resilience Needs a Water-Smart Society”, organized by Water Europe and Ragn-Sells in partnership with the Consulate of Sweden in New York, Bioazul, Suez and Xylem. The event brought to focus the new Water Europe vision for a Water-Smart society and emphasized the urgency for key stakeholders such as SMEs, utilities, industry, and governments to take action in accelerating the deployment of circular processes while extracting value for the benefit of our rural and urban communities.
